Joe Rogan, the renowned podcast host, has disclosed that two former U.S. presidents exerted pressure on Spotify to suppress his commentary on COVID-19.
During a recent episode featuring Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, a Houston-based otolaryngologist and author, Rogan recounted the intense scrutiny he faced from influential figures. "Spotify got calls from two former presidents," he revealed, highlighting the extent of the pressure.
According to Gateway Pundit, Spotify responded by flagging podcasts that discussed COVID-19. Despite this, Rogan maintains that the outcome was largely beneficial. "I grew by two million subscribers in a month," he stated, noting that listeners found him to be "really reasonable and pretty humble about all this stuff and just asking questions." This surge in audience suggests a public appetite for diverse perspectives on the pandemic, challenging the mainstream narrative.
Rogan also took aim at media outlets for their portrayal of his use of ivermectin, a drug he used to treat COVID-19, accusing them of misleading the public by labeling it a "horse dewormer."
He questioned why the media did not focus on his rapid recovery, saying, "Why arent you guys concentrating on the fact that a 55-year-old man is fine three days later during the worst strain?" His experience during the Delta variant outbreak, when many were in a state of panic, underscores the need for honest reporting.
Expressing his disillusionment with mainstream media, Rogan lamented, "Its so dirty. Its such a dirty business," reflecting on the erosion of his respect for journalism. He acknowledged that without his podcast, he might have remained unaware of the media's shortcomings, stating, "I kind of liked it better when I didnt think the world is filled with demons, money-hungry demons that are willing to sacrifice human lives in the pursuit of revenue."
Rogan's revelations highlight a growing skepticism towards traditional media and a demand for transparency and truth.
