In a deeply unsettling incident, Vance Luther Boelter, 57, is accused of orchestrating a politically charged attack against Minnesota Democrats early Saturday.
Boelter, who was appointed by Governor Tim Walz in 2019 to the Minnesota Workforce Development Board, allegedly disguised himself as a police officer to carry out this heinous act.
As reported by Gateway Pundit, the authorities initiated an extensive manhunt after Boelter allegedly shot and killed former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, while also injuring State Senator John Hoffman and his wife in their residences.
During the investigation, law enforcement discovered a hit list in Boelter's vehicle, which included approximately 70 names. Among those targeted were Governor Tim Walz, Senator Tina Smith, abortion providers, and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
According to CNN, additional weapons and a significant amount of ammunition were found in the suspect's car, indicating his readiness for further attacks. A Father's Day card, presumably addressed to Boelter, was also recovered, alongside a manifesto detailing his grievances.
The hit list comprised numerous Minnesota state legislators, mayors, medical clinics, including both abortion providers and pro-life advocates, as well as individuals and locations outside the state. The suspect's apparent motive was to execute a series of attacks or assassinations until law enforcement intervened.
Police managed to intercept Boelter at his second target location, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. He subsequently fled on foot, abandoning his vehicle, weapons, and part of his plan. Boelter was reportedly clad in a tactical vest or body armor, though it remains uncertain if he sustained any injuries.
This incident underscores the importance of vigilance and preparedness in the face of politically motivated violence, as well as the need for robust security measures to protect public officials and citizens alike.
