Has the tech mogul Elon Musk mended fences with President Donald Trump?.
While their relationship may never fully return to its former state, recent developments suggest a thawing of tensions. Musk appeared to endorse Trump's stance on the unrest in Los Angeles, where criminals and far-left activists are rioting over the deportation of illegal aliens.
On Sunday evening, Musk addressed his 220 million followers on the X platform, sharing a post from Trump's Truth Social account. The post criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom, whom Trump referred to as "Governor Gavin Newscum," and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
Trump stated, "Governor Gavin Newscum and 'Mayor' Bass should apologize to the people of Los Angeles for the absolutely horrible job that they have done, and this now includes the ongoing L.A. riots. These are not protesters, they are troublemakers and insurrectionists. Remember, NO MASKS!"
According to Gateway Pundit, Musk also retweeted Vice-President J.D. Vance, who emphasized the need for strong leadership in the face of the riots. Vance declared, "This moment calls for decisive leadership. The President will not tolerate rioting and violence."
Musk's actions, while not a definitive reconciliation, indicate a shift from his previous critical stance. Just last week, Musk had called for Trump's impeachment and made unsubstantiated claims linking him to Jeffrey Epstein. Those inflammatory posts have since been removed.
In response to Musk's earlier outburst, President Trump remarked that Musk had "lost his mind" and expressed disinterest in engaging with him at that moment. Meanwhile, Elon Musk's father, Errol Musk, downplayed the conflict, describing it as a "mere bump in the road" that would soon "fizzle out."
Errol Musk commented, "I havent spoken to him, but I did send him a message, you know, telling him to make sure this fizzles out. You know, its not just in your home with your own family, but at all levels, people struggle to find common ground with each other."
He further expressed confidence in Trump's enduring popularity, stating, "And, I think thats all were seeing now. Trump, of course, will prevail because he has been voted in by the majority of the people in America." Errol Musk added, "Ive just spent three weeks in America. The people are, I would like to say 80%, but actually 100% behind Trump."
As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Musk and President Trump will fully reconcile. However, the recent interactions suggest a potential easing of tensions between the two influential figures.
