A recent YouGov poll reveals that a significant majority of Republicans are rallying behind President Donald Trump in his ongoing dispute with tech mogul Elon Musk.
The survey, conducted on Thursday, indicates that 71 percent of Republicans are siding with Trump, while a mere 6 percent express support for Musk. Meanwhile, 12 percent of respondents chose neither side, and 11 percent remain undecided.
According to The Post Millennial, the poll also highlights that among independents, Trump maintains a lead over Musk, with 18 percent backing the President compared to 8 percent for Musk. Nonetheless, a substantial 59 percent of independents prefer neither of the two prominent figures.
This public spat between Trump and Musk emerged after Musk distanced himself from the Trump administration and criticized the "Big, Beautiful Bill" that has passed the House but awaits a Senate vote. Musk's primary concern lies with the bill's spending levels. In a pointed exchange, Musk remarked, Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.
Musk further stirred controversy by alleging that the federal government is withholding documents related to Jeffrey Epstein due to Trump's supposed involvement. However, Musk later retracted this claim by deleting the post. "Time to drop the really big bomb: Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT! Musk had posted earlier in the week before removing it.
In response, Trump took to Truth Social to suggest the potential termination of federal contracts with Musks enterprises. He also accused Musk of erratic behavior following the exclusion of electric vehicle mandates from the budget bill. I dont mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago, Trump commented on Truth Social.
By Saturday morning, Musk had removed the Epstein-related accusation along with other posts, including one advocating for Trump's impeachment and replacement with Vice President JD Vance. The unfolding drama between these two influential figures continues to capture public attention, as both sides navigate the complexities of their high-profile disagreement.
