A new poll shows that former President Trump might have the edge over President Biden in a potential re-match between the two in 2024.

Breitbart reports that a new Harvard Caps Harris poll of 2,905 registered voters showed that Trump led Biden by a margin of 4 percentage points in their estimations. In the same poll, when matched against Vice-President Harris, Trump runs away with a ten percentage point lead.

The poll asked the following: If the 2024 election for President were held today and it was between Donald Trump, the Republican and Joe Biden, the Democrat, who would you vote for?

In the poll, 14 percent of Democrats said they would vote for Trump. Seventy-nine percent of Republicans said that they would vote for Trump. Meanwhile, 42 percent of Independents stated that they would vote for Trump. Conversely, 76 percent of Democrats said they would vote for Biden.

Only 11 percent of Republicans said they would vote for Biden. Just 33 percent of Independents in this poll said they would vote for Biden. Meanwhile, approximately 10 percent of each party and 23 percent of Independents indicated that they didnt know who they would vote for.

Breitbart reports that the poll also found that the majority of Republican voters also believe that Trump will ultimately prevail in the primaries and will end up with the GOP nomination. They believe that he will defeat Florida Governor DeSantis and all other potential contenders for the nomination.

Bidens approval rating within the same poll stands at 43 percentage points. Many voters raised concerns about Bidens physical and mental abilities to continue to perform the job of President of the United States. The poll found that only 44 percent of voters believe Biden is mentally fit to remain in office as President. Fifty-six percent of voters think he is NOT mentally fit to do the job.

Politico reported on the poll and stated: Biden has not yet officially announced hes running again next year, though he has said he plans to. Polls show his approval rating is hovering in the low 40s, right around the mark where some of his predecessors who were denied second terms sat at this point of their presidencies.

Other interesting findings in the poll included that 53 percent of Republican voters in the survey stated that they supported Trump for the GOP nomination. Florida Governor DeSantis came in second with 24 percent support. Former Vice-President Mike Pence was a distant third at 7 percent, and no other potential candidate came anywhere close.
