Attorney General Pam Bondi has issued a stern rebuke to the American Bar Association (ABA), declaring that the organization will no longer receive preferential treatment due to its perceived bias.

Bondi expressed her concerns on X, stating, "The American Bar Association has lost its way, and we do not believe it serves as a fair arbiter of judicial nominees."

In a letter addressed to ABA President William Bay, Bondi elaborated on her position, noting that for many years, the ABA enjoyed privileged access to judicial nominees. "For several decades, the American Bar Association has received special treatment and enjoyed special access to judicial nominees," she wrote.

Bondi highlighted that in some past administrations, the ABA was informed of nominees before the public announcement, and decisions on nominations were sometimes influenced by the ABA's ratings.

As reported by Western Journal, Bondi emphasized that the Trump administration will not yield to the ABA's influence. She criticized the organization for no longer serving as an impartial evaluator of nominees' qualifications, asserting that its ratings tend to favor candidates proposed by Democratic administrations.

"There is no justification for treating the ABA differently from such other activist organizations and the Department of Justice will not do so," Bondi stated.

The letter made it clear that the special access previously granted to the ABA is now revoked. "Accordingly, while the ABA is free to comment on judicial nominations along with other activist organizations, there is no justification for treating the ABA differently from such other activist organizations and the Department of Justice will not do so," Bondi reiterated.

She further specified that the Office of Legal Policy will cease directing nominees to provide waivers for ABA access to non-public information, including bar records. Additionally, nominees will no longer respond to ABA questionnaires or participate in interviews with the organization.

In a move that underscores the administration's commitment to reshaping the judiciary, President Donald Trump recently announced six new judicial nominees. Among them is Emil Bove, a Justice Department official nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

According to Time, Trump expressed his confidence in Bove's capabilities on Truth Social, stating, "It is my great honor to nominate Emil Bove to serve as a Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Emil is a distinguished graduate of Georgetown Law, and served as Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York for nearly a decade, where he was the Co-Chief of the Terrorism and International Narcotics Unit."

President Trump praised Bove's attributes, describing him as "SMART, TOUGH, and respected by everyone." He further asserted that Bove would "end the Weaponization of Justice, restore the Rule of Law, and do anything else that is necessary to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Emil Bove will never let you down!"
