A non-profit watchdog organization, Power the Future, has raised concerns over the legitimacy of several executive orders issued under the previous administration, questioning whether President Biden was aware of their signing.
The group's investigation comes amidst growing speculation about the control of the White House during Biden's tenure, with allegations of a hidden "Politburo" running the country and a cover-up of the President's cognitive decline.
According to RedState, Power the Future has written to the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, James Comer (R-KY), detailing their findings and calling for a more comprehensive investigation. The group's main concern is the potential misuse of the autopen, a device used to replicate the President's signature, to sign executive orders while Biden was reportedly unaware.
The letter from Power the Future, as reported by Fox News Digital, states, "Power The Future remains concerned that key policies of major economic and national security significance directed by the White House during the Biden administration may have been undertaken without presidential awareness and approval, but perhaps instead by a small coterie of staff."
The group's analysis of several climate policy-related executive orders dating back to 2021 revealed no evidence that President Biden was aware of or directed their signing. Daniel Turner, the Executive Director of Power the Future, argued that this "autopen scandal" indicates that these executive orders are invalid and called for a thorough investigation by the Department of Justice.
Donald Trump Jr., son of President Trump, echoed these concerns in a post on X, questioning the legality of these executive orders. He asked, "So how are any of these Executive Orders from Biden even legal?"
Power the Future also referenced an incident recounted by House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), in which President Biden allegedly had no knowledge of signing a critical LNG executive order. Johnson expressed his shock, stating, "I thought, We are in serious troublewho is running the country? Like, I dont know who put the paper in front of him, but he didnt know (he had signed it)."
The Heritage Foundation reported in March that a significant majority of official documents signed during Biden's presidency bore the same autopen signature. Power the Future has suggested that these autopen signatures were used to sign executive orders, including pre-emptive pardons for family members and individuals involved in other scandals during the final days of Biden's presidency.
The watchdog's concerns primarily revolve around Biden's apparent lack of public commentary on the orders. While it's not uncommon for a President to refrain from commenting on every order they sign, the combination of this silence and Biden's alleged cognitive decline raises serious questions.
Speculation has arisen that a group advising Biden during his presidency, while he was reportedly battling mental insufficiencies, controlled the autopen and, by extension, effectively ran the country.
Ed Martin, a pardon attorney and head of the Department of Justices weaponization task force, has been investigating this potential misuse of the autopen and has identified a trio of "gatekeepers" who were allegedly controlling the White House during Biden's tenure.
President Trump has demanded that the "treasonous thugs" behind this controversy be held accountable. He criticized those who "knew he (Biden) was cognitively impaired" and "took over the Autopen."
However, constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley has pointed out that Presidents are legally allowed to use the autopen, and courts may not necessarily accept theories about someone using it on Biden's behalf. This further underscores the need for Congress to call in witnesses and investigate the matter thoroughly.
Whether Biden legitimately signed the orders or not, the American public deserves to know the truth. If an electronic paper trail exists, it could reveal who initiated these autopen signatures and when, providing crucial evidence in this unfolding controversy.
