Scott Adams, the mind behind the "Dilbert" comic strip, recently disclosed a personal interaction with President Donald Trump following a shared health diagnosis.
Adams, who has been diagnosed with the same type of prostate cancer as Joe Biden, recounted the unexpected communication on his podcast, "Real Coffee with Scott Adams." After revealing his condition, Adams noted an influx of concern from friends and followers. Among these was a voicemail from an unfamiliar Florida number, which he initially ignored.
The voicemail began with the words, "This is your favorite president," leaving Adams to ponder, "Did I just send the most important person in the world to voicemail?" According to Adams, President Trump left a "semi-lengthy voicemail," concluding with an invitation for Adams to return the call.
However, Adams chose not to, assuming the President was merely extending a courtesy. "Its not like hes sitting at the Resolute desk waiting for my call," Adams remarked, acknowledging the President's undoubtedly busy schedule.
As reported by the Daily Caller, Adams was taken aback when President Trump reached out once more later that day, this time catching Adams by surprise. "He was just checking on me and wanted to make sure I was getting everything I needed," Adams shared, adding that his condition was "kind of dire." The President assured Adams, "If you need anything, Ill make it happen," underscoring a personal touch often unseen in political figures.
Adams described the exchange as "the most incredible, weird, hard-to-understand situation, but boy, was that fun." He revealed that his cancer, diagnosed on Monday, had unfortunately metastasized to his bones, leaving him with a life expectancy potentially as short as this summer. Meanwhile, Biden's office confirmed a similar diagnosis, with his cancer also having spread to his bones.
