Bruce Springsteen has intensified his ongoing dispute with President Donald Trump by releasing digital downloads of his live performances, which include pointed critiques of the current administration.
The recordings, made available on Wednesday, feature highlights from Springsteen's recent concert in Manchester, England. These include four songs interspersed with two scathing commentaries directed at President Trump.
During the performance, Springsteen rallied his audience, stating, "The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock n roll, in dangerous times."
He further criticized the current administration, saying, "In my home, the America I love, the America Ive written about, and has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration. Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experience to rise with us, raise your voices against the authoritarianism, and let freedom ring."
As reported by Fox News, Springsteen did not hold back in his condemnation of elected officials, accusing "a majority of our elected representatives" of failing to shield citizens from "the abuses of an unfit president and a rogue government." He also criticized efforts to "roll back historic civil rights legislation that has led to a more just and plural society, removing residents off American streets." Fox News Digital sought comment from Springsteen's publicist regarding these statements.
Coinciding with Springsteen's release, President Trump responded by sharing an edited video on Truth Social, depicting himself hitting a golf ball that appears to strike Springsteen.
Trump, who has long been a critic of Springsteen, expressed his disdain, writing, "I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States. Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, hes not a talented guy Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country."
Despite the escalating tensions, Springsteen seemed to sidestep questions about this renewed "feud" with President Trump during a recent public appearance. The exchange underscores the ongoing cultural and political divide, with Springsteen's artistic expression clashing with the President's direct and often confrontational style.to such critiques.
