There are a few internal tensions among the GOP regarding a new party leader, and two women recently got into a fight over it at a Michigan bar.

According to The Daily Mail, The altercation, which occurred on a patio of the Doherty Hotel in Clare, Michigan, arose between Kalamazoo Republican Party Chair Kelly Sackett and Macomb County GOP Secretary Melissa Pehlis..

Sackett knocked a phone and cigarette out of Pehliss hand. It didnt take long for Pehlis to swing back with an open hand aimed at Sackett. Another man at the bar tried to intervene, and the police were called. According to local news outlets, Sackett did file a complaint.

The Daily Mail says, The exchange was reportedly the result of an ongoing rivalry within the state party between followers of new state GOP Chair Kristina Karamo and Matthew DePerno - an attorney who ran against Karamo to lead the party.

DePerno says there is a lot of dispute amongst party members and points out that Karamo needs to do something to bring the party together again. This allegedly contributed to the tense exchange that happened Friday night.

There are accusations that GOP Kalamazoo County Officials are working to eliminate Karamo supporters from positions of power. According to Pehlis, Sackett is involved in this and removed people from their positions just last week. Pehlis supports Karamo.

These accusations come after three Karamo supporters were removed from the Kalamazoo GOP committee. Two sued and accused DePerno and Sackett of eliminating anyone who disagreed.

DePerno alleges that the election was fraudulent. He says that the members are not focused on winning elections. Instead, he claims they have a cult mentality and insists on pushing a radical agenda with a Christian-only mentality.
