Reality Bites! The View Co-Host SNAPS 'Not So Sunny' Hostin Back To Earth Over Her WILD Trump Claim!

During a recent episode of "The View," co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin found herself in a heated exchange with fellow panelist Sunny Hostin.

The discussion centered on accusations against President Donald Trump, with Hostin alleging that Trump had misled his supporters regarding tax policies on overtime pay and tips. Hostin claimed, without substantiation, that Trump had "every intention" of reneging on his campaign promise to eliminate taxes on these earnings.

Hostin stated, "Trump lied to people. I think he lied to his base. I think he told his base that their overtime would not be taxed, that was a lie." Griffin, however, was quick to counter these assertions. "Actually, thats in the new tax bill. Its literally in the tax bill in Congress," she responded, emphasizing the inclusion of the policy in the legislative proposal.

According to the Daily Caller, Hostin further contended that congressional Republicans had to struggle to incorporate this policy into the bill, a claim Griffin promptly refuted. "Thats not true. [Trump] ran on no tax on tips and its in the tax bill," Griffin clarified. Hostin persisted, arguing that the policy was not initially part of the bill, to which Griffin replied, "[The bill is] being drafted right now."

Hostin attributed Trump's 2024 electoral victory to deceit, suggesting that his success was not due to Democratic missteps or President Joe Biden's health issues. She argued that Trump's perceived dishonesty swayed voters.

However, public opinion polls consistently showed that voters placed greater trust in Trump over Kamala Harris on critical issues such as the economy and immigration. This trust enabled Trump to make significant gains among blue-collar voters, as well as black and Latino men.

The Republicans' tax bill, designed to advance Trump's economic agenda, proposes a $3.8 trillion tax cut and includes a provision to exempt tips and overtime from taxation. Additionally, the legislation aims to reform Medicaid to reduce costs for the poor and disabled while also raising the debt ceiling by $4 trillion.

Trump initially unveiled his plan to eliminate taxes on tips during a rally in Las Vegas on June 9. Subsequently, Kamala Harris echoed this proposal at a Las Vegas rally in August, leading Trump to accuse her of imitation.
