The House GOP recently faced significant criticism following a tweet from their X account, which stated, "We need to get Americans off the sidelines."
This message was met with a wave of backlash, prompting responses from various conservative figures.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., expressed her discontent, emphasizing the efforts of Americans who "got off the sidelines and handed us the majority in November." She criticized the House GOP for not advancing President Trump's executive orders, failing to make DOGE cuts permanent, and not completing the "big beautiful bill." Greene noted, "Getting ratioed in comments is how Americans feel."
According to Fox News, BlazeTV host Auron MacIntyre did not hold back in his criticism, urging the House Republicans to "pass one decent bill you clowns." Mark Mitchell of Rasmussen Reports echoed this sentiment, stating, "Americans got off the sidelines to get you elected. You're squandering it."
In a separate incident, the House GOP's bilingual tweet, which read, "House Republicans believe in every Americans potential to thrive by embracing the power of work," also drew ire. Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, responded sharply, questioning, "Is this a joke, @HouseGOP? Were in America. We represent Americans. We dont pander in foreign languages. Speak English." He further criticized the message by stating, "'Press 2 for English' is a losing message, @HouseGOP."
Auron MacIntyre added to the criticism with a call for prioritizing American values, writing, "America First! Now press one for English," and suggested, "You dont hate the Republican Party enough." Meanwhile, conservative commentator Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire demanded accountability, urging, "Fire everyone associated with this account."
The backlash highlights a growing frustration among conservatives who feel that the House GOP is not adequately representing their interests or advancing their legislative agenda.
