The debate was sparked by Trump's decision to accept a $400 million jet from Qatar, a move that Harf criticized, highlighting the financial ties between the Trump family businesses and foreign investments.
According to Mediaite, Harf argued, "We cannot forget that these countries have invested millions and millions of dollars in Trump family businesses, and if this were the Biden family, the 'Biden Crime Family' you all talked about for four years, going to countries and getting millions and millions of dollars from the same people who are investing those millions to personally enrich Donald Trump, you would be furious." Co-host Jesse Watters countered by pointing out, "Thats because the Trump family has a business. The Biden family didnt have a business." Gutfeld supported this view, stating, "Yeah, you cant compare the two."
The conversation took a contentious turn when Harf interjected, "Youre right, Trump is worse," following Gutfeld's assertion that "The Bidens exploited public service for personal wealth." Harf retorted, "Thats what Donald Trump is doing today!"
Gutfeld defended the transparency of Trump's business dealings, saying, "You wanna talk about Trump business deals and Biden business deals? One is transparent and one isnt. We know about the jet because hes not hiding it. We didnt know about the Burisma deal. We didnt know about the money coming from China. That was all secret." Harf responded, "Just because you see the corruption doesnt mean its not corruption, Greg."
