Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed to reporters on Wednesday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is currently engaged in a meticulous review of "tens of thousands" of child pornography videos linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
This revelation comes as Epstein's shadow continues to loom over the justice system, following his suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-related charges.
As reported by the Daily Caller, Bondi addressed the delay in the release of documents related to Epstein during a press conference. She explained, "The FBI, theyre reviewing there are tens of thousands of videos of Epstein with children or child porn and there are hundreds of victims and no one victim will ever get released, its just the volume and thats what theyre going through right now." Bondi assured that the FBI is "diligently going through that," adding, "Ill call him later."
Epstein's notoriety extends beyond his criminal activities, as he maintained connections with a host of high-profile individuals even after his 2008 guilty plea on sex charges. Among those linked to him were L Brands founder Lex Wexner, filmmaker Woody Allen, and Prince Andrew. Notably, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and employees of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation also had interactions with Epstein, with Gates reportedly meeting him as recently as 2019, despite Melinda Gates' concerns, as highlighted in a May 2021 report by The Wall Street Journal.
During an April 22 event at the White House, the Daily Caller sought President Donald Trump's perspective on the delay in releasing Epstein-related files. President Trump responded, "I dont know, Ill speak to the attorney general about that. I really dont know," while emphasizing the administration's commitment to transparency, stating, "I know that weve done the RFK, the Kennedy, Martin Luther King is out there very shortly, so well find out. But weve really, really announced, were doing them in full transparency."
The initial batch of Epstein files was made public by Bondi on February 27, marking a step in the ongoing effort to unravel the complex web of Epstein's associations and activities.
