JD Vance Gives HEARTFELT Mayoral EndorsementAnd They May As Well Call It Now!

In the bustling city of Cincinnati, a new contender has emerged in the political arena, bolstered by a familial endorsement from none other than Vice President JD Vance.

Cory Bowman, a 36-year-old pastor and entrepreneur, is the half-brother of Vance and has recently thrown his hat into the ring for the city's mayoral race, securing a spot in the upcoming general election in November.

According to The Blaze, Bowman, who is the founder and pastor of the River Church and co-owner of the Kings Arms Coffee shop in Cincinnati's West End, has been inspired by his older brother's political journey. Vance's ascent to the Vice Presidency in January has served as a significant motivator for Bowman's own political ambitions.

"When it comes to that relationship, I've said it over and over, but I'll repeat it, he's an amazing role model of mine," Bowman expressed, demonstrating the profound influence his half-brother has had on his decision to run for mayor.

Bowman's campaign is centered around addressing local issues, a stark contrast to his brother's national and international political focus. "Our job isn't to copy and paste what's going on in the nation. Our job is to say, however the nation's going, what's going to be best for the city of Cincinnati?" Bowman stated, emphasizing his commitment to the city's unique needs. His primary concerns include infrastructure problems such as potholes and snow removal, crime, and the city budget.

Bowman's competition includes incumbent Mayor Aftab Pureval, who has touted the city's progress under his leadership. "This is our moment, and I'm more determined than ever to keep building on the progress we've achieved together," Pureval announced during his re-election bid. Despite the city's overwhelming Democratic leanings, with all nine city council members endorsed by the Democratic Party, Bowman remains undeterred.

The Vice President's endorsement of his brother's campaign came via a tweet on the day of the primary. "Hey Cincinnati! My brother Cory Bowman is running for mayor and is on the ballot today for the primary. Hes a good guy with a heart for serving his community. Get out there and vote for him!" Vance tweeted. This last-minute endorsement likely played a role in Bowman securing a second-place finish in the primary, earning him a spot in the November general election.

While the political landscape in Cincinnati is predominantly Democratic, the state of Ohio has shown a conservative leaning in recent times. Vice President Vance and President Donald Trump won the state by a comfortable margin in the last election, outpacing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz by nearly 600,000 votes. However, the Democratic ticket dominated in Hamilton County, where Cincinnati is located.

As the general election looms on Tuesday, November 4, Bowman's campaign, backed by his brother's endorsement, is set to challenge the city's Democratic stronghold. His focus on local issues and commitment to the city's welfare, coupled with the influence of his high-profile half-brother, may just be the recipe for a political upset in Cincinnati.
