WATCH: Republican Councilman Says THIS U.S. City Created 'Secret' Gun Registry!

In Jacksonville, Florida, Councilman Nick Howland, a Republican, has raised serious concerns regarding the alleged creation of a gun registry by the city, purportedly in violation of state law.

According to Howland, since July 2023, information has been collected on individuals entering two municipal buildings while carrying firearms.

In an interview with Action News Jax, Howland asserted that security personnel have been recording the names, personal details, and types of firearms of citizens entering City Hall and the Yates Building. This information, he claimed, has been meticulously documented in notebooks. "In those notebooks for two years, that info has been gathered. Florida is a no-registry state. So, that is a clear violation of state law," Howland emphasized.

As reported by Breitbart, the State Attorney's Office is currently investigating these allegations. Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan's office confirmed, The City of Jacksonville has received and complied with a subpoena from the State Attorneys Office. This development underscores the gravity of the situation, as it raises questions about the potential infringement of citizens' rights in a state that prohibits firearm registries.

Howland, who serves as the Rules Committee Chair, is actively seeking a resolution. He has called for a meeting involving the Mayors Office, the Office of General Counsel, and the Public Works Department to address the alleged illegal firearm registry. This meeting aims to clarify the situation and ensure adherence to state laws, reflecting a commitment to uphold individual freedoms and prevent government overreach.
