Will THIS Dem. Senator DERAIL Mike Waltz's UN Confirmation Over 'Signal Gate'?!?!

Senator Peter Welch (D-VT) expressed skepticism regarding the confirmation prospects of Mike Waltz, nominated by President Trump to serve as the United States ambassador to the United Nations.

During an appearance on MSNBC's "Ana Cabrera Reports," Welch highlighted the challenges Waltz might face due to his involvement in a controversy known as "Signal-gate."

Ana Cabrera introduced the topic by noting, "Lets pivot to the big shakeup involving Mike Waltz. Hes out as national security adviser now nominated to be us ambassador to the U.N.. This after he sparked controversy for adding a journalist to a Signal chat about strikes on Yemen. Do you see this as accountability?"

According to Breitbart, Welch responded, "No, I mean, clearly not. Hell be held accountable because, in this position, hes going to have to have a confirmation hearing. So obviously, the question of Signal-gate is going to come up."

Welch elaborated on the implications of the controversy, stating, "Theres a couple of troubling things about Signal-gate. First and foremost, the safety of our troops but second, the ethic of accountability you know, to the men and women in uniform. I take that so seriously, and they take operational security so seriously. Why cant we have our leaders like Hegseth and like Walsh take it as seriously as the men and women wearing uniform do? So hes going to face some very, very tough questions in his confirmation hearing."

Cabrera further inquired about Waltz's confirmation prospects, asking, "Do you think Waltz is going to have a hard time getting confirmed because of Signal-gate?" Welch affirmed, "I do. You know, theres been denial that that was a big deal, and its a huge deal."

As Waltz prepares for his confirmation hearing, the scrutiny surrounding his actions underscores the importance of accountability and operational security, values that resonate deeply with those serving in uniform. The outcome of this process will reveal whether these principles are upheld at the highest levels of government.
