According to a report by The Daily Mail, Alec Baldwin has spoken out about the lawsuit filed against him by Halyna Hutchins parents and sister.

Baldwin was to the point about the lawsuits intentions in the court documents filed on Thursday, stating it was to obtain compensation over Hutchins death in October 2021 while filming a movie scene. He named those involved in the fatality as Olga Solovey, Anatolii Androsovych, and Svetlana Zemck and noted that their suit was misguided.

The fatal shooting occurred just outside of Sante Fe, Mexico, in 2021 on set where Rust was being filmed.

Baldwin said that Hutchinss parents and sister had not been close to her physically, financially, and emotionally for many years.

According to NBC News, the documents included The loss of a daughter and sister is undoubtedly painful in any circumstance. Yet Plaintiffs - who had been distanced from Halyna physically, financially, and emotionally for years before her death - have no viable cause of action against Defendants.

In response to Baldwin wanting the lawsuit to be thrown out of court, attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing Hutchins, made a statement on Saturday saying that Baldwin was once again attempting to avoid responsibility. Allred added that she and the immediate Hutchin family would be in court to make sure Baldwin was held accountable for his actions.

Baldwin, along with Gutierrez-Reed, were charged in January with involuntary manslaughter.

While preparing for an upcoming scene at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in 2021, Baldwin rehearsed with the gun when it discharged, striking Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.

The prosecutor alleges Baldwin pulled the trigger that fatally wounded Hutchins. Gutierrez-Reed is charged with failing to check and ensure the gun was unloaded. The director was charged with negligent use of a deadly weapon and will plead no contest.

If convicted, both Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed will face prison time of up to 18 months.
