In a recent development, CNN's Kaitlan Collins found herself in a challenging position during an interview with Tom Homan, the border czar, concerning the notorious MS-13 gang member, Kilmer Abrego Garcia.

The Trump administration had previously deported Garcia, who had unlawfully entered the United States in 2011, back to his native country.

According to Gateway Pundit, the decision to deport Garcia was based on two court rulings that identified him as an MS-13 gang member. This classification made him a designated foreign terrorist and an illegal alien, despite a 2019 ruling by an activist immigration judge that allowed him to stay in Maryland due to concerns for his safety.

At that time, El Salvador was considered one of the most violent countries globally, but it has since become the safest in the Western Hemisphere.

The Supreme Court has ordered the Trump administration to facilitate Garcia's return, following a demand from an Obama judge that the administration should not only "facilitate" but also "effectuate" his return. However, Garcia remains in El Salvador, as the country's president, Nayib Bukele, has consistently refused to send him back to the United States.

During the interview, Collins attempted to argue that the Trump administration had mishandled the situation, relying heavily on the outdated 2019 ruling. However, her strategy backfired when Homan reiterated the case's facts, emphasizing that Garcia is currently in El Salvador's custody and that the country's president has made it clear he will not release him.

"The DOJ is going to fight this outThe courts will decide what the next steps will be," Homan stated.

Despite Homan's explanation, Collins continued to reference the 2019 immigration judge's ruling, conveniently overlooking several key changes, including the improved crime rate in El Salvador and Garcia's designation as a terrorist.

Homan quickly interjected, shutting down Collins' argument by highlighting the significant changes since the initial ruling. "We keep going back and backThat was years ago, the country was different," Homan retorted. "That gang no longer exists in El Salvador."

Homan further emphasized that Garcia has been designated a terrorist since the initial ruling, with two federal judges, a police department, and ICE data all confirming his affiliation with the MS-13 gang. "As you know, MS-13 has been designated a terrorist organization. The facts of the case have changed since that first decision," Homan concluded.
