Canadians Are FURIOUS: Petition Demands Amazon STOP Selling THESE!

A petition demanding that Amazon cease the sale of merchandise promoting the idea of Canada as the 51st state of the United States has amassed over 60,000 signatures.

This movement, hosted on Change.org, has attracted approximately 69,310 supporters, urging the retail giant to halt the distribution of such items. The petition argues that these products are "not just offensive and immoral," but also pose "a direct threat to our democracy." This development follows President Donald Trump's previous remarks, which humorously suggested incorporating Canada as a U.S. state.

According to Breitbart, the petition, initiated by Sue Williams-Dunn, criticizes the availability of these items on Amazon, suggesting that they amplify President Trump's "intimidating tactics" beyond their due influence. Williams-Dunn expressed concern, stating, "Seeing items on sale that portray this notion on a platform as huge as Amazon gives President Trumps intimidating tactics more power than they deserve, and serve as a constant reminder of the bullying we are subjected to." The petition further emphasizes the distress caused by products that imply Canada's unwilling integration into the United States, highlighting the "looming peril" to Canadian sovereignty.

The petition also describes the sale of pro-Canada 51st state merchandise as inciting "nationwide indignation." It counters the notion that these products are merely humorous, arguing instead that they trivialize the economic challenges Canada faces. "While some may argue these products are harmless, even comedic, they disregard and belittle the sustained economic terrorism Canada has been withstanding," the petition asserts. "This is not a joke to us. Its a threat to our autonomy and identity as Canadians."

Breitbart News previously noted that in December 2024, during a meeting with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, President Trump jested that Trudeau could avoid a 25 percent tariff on Canadian goods by becoming the 51st state. Trump later reiterated this sentiment on Truth Social, referring to Trudeau as "Governor Justin Trudeau of the Great State of Canada." Following Trudeau's resignation announcement in January, Trump again proposed a merger between Canada and the United States, suggesting that such a union would eliminate tariffs and reduce taxes.

"Many people in Canada LOVE being the 51st State," Trump declared on Truth Social. "The United States can no longer suffer the massive Trade Deficits and Subsidies that Canada needs to stay afloat. Justin Trudeau knew this, and resigned." He further elaborated, "If Canada merged with the U.S., there would be no Tariffs, taxes would go way down, and they would be TOTALLY SECURE from the threat of the Russian and Chinese Ships that are constantly surrounding them. Together, what a great Nation it would be!!!"

In a lighthearted exchange, Trudeau responded to Trump in February after Canada's national team triumphed over the U.S. in the 4 Nations Hockey championship. Trudeau quipped, "You cant take our country" or their beloved game, underscoring the enduring spirit of Canadian independence.
