The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) has launched a new video campaign targeting Democrats, accusing them of being disconnected from the concerns of everyday Americans.
This comes as the Democratic Party's approval ratings are reportedly plummeting to near-record lows, as revealed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
According to the Daily Caller, the RSLC, which is dedicated to electing Republicans to state-level offices and promoting conservative judicial candidates, released a video titled "Dems Master Plan." The video features controversial statements from Democratic Representatives Jasmine Crockett of Texas and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, as well as former Vice President Kamala Harris.
These clips are presented as evidence of the Democratic Party's alleged disdain for ordinary Americans. The timing of this release coincides with the Democrats' efforts to regain voter trust and dispel the notion that they are aligned with far-left ideologies and coastal elites.
A New York Times-Ipsos poll conducted in January, which surveyed 2,128 Americans, found that a plurality of respondents identified abortion, LGBT rights, climate change, and "the state of democracy" as the most pressing issues for the Democratic Party. Meanwhile, a CNN poll in March indicated that the party's approval rating had fallen to 29%.
The RSLC video poses the question, "Democrats plan to win back voters?" and includes a soundbite from Omar, who, in a February interview with left-wing broadcaster Mehdi Hasan, remarked, "The dumbing of the United States has arrived because how else do you get a Trump presidency again?"
The video further highlights a clip of Crockett, who appeared to downplay the significance of $5,000 to the average American during a February interview on ABC News. RSLC Communications Director Mason Di Palma criticized the Democrats, stating, "While state Republicans are committed to advancing a solid policy agenda aimed at boosting Americas prosperity, Democrats continue to insult the American people by calling them uninformed."
Di Palma added that Democrats, with their historically low approval ratings, refuse to work with Republicans to deliver tangible solutions for the American populace, instead insisting they know what is best.
A February Quinnipiac University poll found that just over two in ten Americans hold a favorable view of Congressional Democrats' performance, marking a record low. Di Palma further commented, "Instead, they prioritize blocking progress and stubbornly cling to the same failed policies that the American people rejected."
The RSLC also took aim at Senate Democrats for blocking legislation in February and March that sought to prevent transgender athletes from competing in girls' and women's sports. This party-line vote occurred despite widespread public support for restricting biological males' participation in women's sports.
In a statement obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, the RSLC accused Democrats of lacking "any meaningful policy solutions" to address voter needs. Doug Schoen, a former pollster for President Bill Clinton, told "Fox and Friends" that the Democratic Party "doesnt have new ideas" and lacks a compelling message for voters.
In a significant move, the RSLC's Judicial Fairness Initiative invested $2 million in Wisconsin's State Supreme Court race to back conservative candidate Brad Schimel. However, liberal County Judge Susan Crawford defeated Schimel by nearly 240,000 votes in what was considered one of the most pivotal judicial contests of 2025.
