BREAKING NEWS: Guess WHO Officially Lost Their DC Law License?!?!

On Tuesday, Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, submitted an affidavit under seal to the DC Court of Appeals, expressing his "consent to disbarment," as reported by the New York Post.

The court must now formally approve the recommendation from the DC Bars Board on Professional Responsibility, alongside Biden's consent, to finalize the disbarment.

According to The Post Millennial, Hunter Biden became a member of the Washington, DC, bar in 2007. His legal license faced suspension last year following a federal court conviction for falsifying information about drug use to acquire a firearm. Subsequently, he admitted guilt to multiple charges, including three felonies related to tax evasion.

Despite previously asserting he would not interfere in his son's legal affairs, President Biden granted Hunter a "full and unconditional" pardon before leaving office in December.

The DC Bars Office of Disciplinary Counsel initiated legal proceedings against Hunter's license, categorizing any felony as a "serious crime." Consequently, the DC Court of Appeals instructed the bars Board on Professional Responsibility to "institute a formal proceeding to determine the nature of the offense and whether it involves moral turpitude," prompting Hunter's decision to consent to disbarment.

Although Hunter Biden paid the $331 annual fee required to maintain his DC Bar membership, he never actively practiced law in the district. He did, however, hold an "of counsel" role at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP during his father's tenure as vice president. Residing in Southern California, Hunter also possesses a law license in Connecticut, which is currently under administrative suspension due to non-payment of a reinstatement fee.
