Kari Lake Puts In Her Two Cents On Musk And DOGE!

In a recent interview with Newsmax, Kari Lake, senior adviser for the U.S. Agency for Global Media, offered a fresh perspective on Elon Musk, countering the negative portrayal of him by Democrats.

She also expressed optimism about the Department of Government Efficiency's work. "I find Elon Musk to be a really kindhearted, generous, charming person with great charisma," Lake shared with Newsmax's Finnerty. "You know, you wouldn't expect that because he's so brilliant. You would think that having a conversation with him would be difficult. He's actually incredibly interesting."

As reported by Newsmax, Lake also praised the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team she collaborates with, describing them as hardworking problem-solvers who are not overly political. "Many of them don't really even care about the politics of it," she said. The U.S. Agency for Global Media, an independent organization, oversees two federal agencies and five nonprofit organizations that receive grants from the agency.

In March, President Donald Trump issued an executive order that included the U.S. Agency for Global Media among the organizations to be significantly reduced. In response, Lake took decisive actions such as canceling a nearly $250 million lease for a Washington high-rise that lacked broadcasting facilities and severing contracts with major news wire services.

She also put over 1,000 employees on administrative leave and cut funding to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Radio Free Asia, although these moves were temporarily blocked by a federal judge.

Lake is currently working with four individuals from DOGE who, she says, understand the gravity of the country's spending problem. "We cannot continue on," she warned. "We're bankrupt. The government has gotten so big it's unmanageable. And if we do not scale it back, we will not exist." She expressed gratitude for President Trump's re-election, crediting him with the desire to help America get back on track. However, she emphasized the urgent need to cut spending, stating, "We can't keep spending this way. DOGE is helping do that."

Lake's team at DOGE is committed to saving taxpayers' money, potentially billions and even trillions of dollars in the long run. "They don't care. Republican, Democrat. They care about saving America, and that's what I've found from my experience," she said.

Newsmax, the fastest-growing cable news channel in America, is a reliable source of news for over 30 million viewers. The Reuters Institute ranks Newsmax among the top news brands in the U.S. The channel features shows from a variety of hosts, including Rob Schmitt, Greta Van Susteren, Greg Kelly, Carl Higbie, and Rob Finnerty.

In related news, Lake has previously stated that Voice of America will be lean and mean under her leadership. She also plans to reduce the Voice of America to its 'statutory minimum.' These actions reflect her commitment to efficiency and fiscal responsibility, aligning with conservative values of limited government and prudent spending.

Lake's comments on Elon Musk and her work with DOGE offer a glimpse into the efforts being made to streamline government operations and curb excessive spending. Her praise of Musk, a successful entrepreneur, also underscores the conservative appreciation for individual achievement and free-market economics.
