The recent remarks by Minnesota's Democratic Governor Tim Walz, in which he disparaged "old white guys," are steeped in irony, not least because Walz himself is an older white male.
Such comments, if made by those who do not align with Walz's political perspective, would likely result in career-ending backlash. However, it seems that only those who are truly privileged and harbor deep-seated resentment feel at liberty to make such statements. This behavior offers a glimpse into their worldview, a blend of elitism and Marxism.
As reported by KRIV-TV in Houston, Texas, Walz made these contentious remarks during a town hall event hosted by former Democratic Rep. Beto ORourke of Texas in Rosenberg, near Houston. Addressing the young attendees, Walz said, "I just pause for a moment and look around, and look at Im especially talking about these old white guys who seem to disappoint us on a regular basis in this country."
Walz, who was Kamala Harris' running mate during the 2024 election, was often perceived as being out of his depth during the campaign. Harris and her media allies focused heavily on identity politics, a strategy that ultimately failed. One might expect the losing side to reassess their approach, but Democrats like Walz seem unwilling to do so. This stubbornness is not the root cause of their refusal to change, however.
The Democratic Party's continued embrace of identity politics, including racially charged rhetoric that affirms their "wokeness," is rooted in two defining factors: elitism and Marxism. Without these, the modern Democratic Party would be left without a clear identity. In a 2024 interview with The Western Journal, author Jeremy Carl noted that white liberals exhibit a strong anti-white bias. "White liberals stand out as this huge anomaly in the entire social science research in that they have a dramatic hatred of white people. They prefer other groups, by far, and they dislike their own group," Carl said.
Carl, author of "The Unprotected Class: How Anti-White Racism Is Tearing America Apart," suggested that white liberals feel a "deep moral need" to distance themselves from the whites they despise. He also referenced author Rob Henderson's concept of "luxury beliefs," which are only sustainable for those with significant societal advantages. Carl posited that anti-whiteness among affluent whites is a luxury belief.
This anti-white sentiment is most prevalent among wealthy white liberals, which aligns with the notion that elitism often predicts authoritarian tendencies. For example, if you despise your middle- and lower-income white neighbors whom you perceive as deplorable, smelly Walmart shoppers who support President Donald Trump you might desire to censor their opinions and infringe upon their personal liberties.
Elitism frequently coincides with Marxism, which is often misunderstood as primarily advocating for wealth redistribution and rejecting capitalism. While these elements were present in the original Marxist philosophy of the 19th-century Communist philosopher Karl Marx, modern Marxism appeals mainly to the affluent for two reasons.
Firstly, Marxism retains its original atheism, which can be seen in one of Marx's early poems. This allows modernized Marxism to satisfy the leftist's perpetual desire for a war on reality. Secondly, during the Cultural Revolution of the 1960s, Chinese Communist dictator Mao Zedong demonstrated how to expand Marxism's war on the propertied class into a broader war on the past itself.
This is what elitist Democrats truly desire. They not only despise their less fortunate white neighbors but also detest the United States as it was founded, particularly the Declaration of Independence and its appeal to "natural rights" derived from God. They also loathe the Constitution, as evidenced by their relentless attempts to undermine the First and Second Amendments.
In essence, they despise any restrictions on their power restrictions that the "old white" Founding Fathers imposed. This is the true significance of Walz's disparaging remarks about "old white guys," a statement that is deeply ironic given his own demographic.
