Could Matthew McConaughey And Woody Harrelson Be Long-Lost Relatives?

They may be related.

Fox News reports that McConaughey revealed during a podcast interview that Harrelson may be related to him.

You know, where I start and where he ends, and where he starts and I end, has always been like a murky line thats part of our bromance, right? said McConaughey on Kelly Ripas Lets Talk Off Camera podcast on Sirius XM satellite radio.

He continued by saying:

My kids call him Uncle Woody. His kids call me Uncle Matthew. You see pictures of us, [and] my family thinks many pictures of him are me. His family thinks a lot of pictures of me are him.

The 53-year-old said that during a family vacation, his mother mentioned that she had a special connection with Harrelsons father. McConaughey said:

In Greece a few years ago, were sitting around talking about how close we are and our families, and My mom is there, and she says, Woody, I knew your dad. Everyone was aware of the ellipses that my mom left after knew. It was a loaded K-N-E-W.

After hearing this story, McConaughey said that he decided to dig into things a bit deeper to see if he could uncover the truth behind the story. He wanted to know if what his mother was saying could be true. It turned out that his mother connected with Harrelsons father while she was divorced.

McConaughey said:

Then there [are] possible receipts and places out in West Texas where there might have been a gathering, meeting, or a knew moment.

Ripa asked if he or Harrelson had taken a DNA test to confirm the possibility that they might be related to one another. McConaughey said, This is what were on the precipice of now.

He also jokingly pointed out: Its a little easier for Wood to say, Come on, lets do it, because whats the skin in it for him?

Finally, he said:

Its a little harder for me because hes asking me to take the chance to go, Wait a minute, youre telling me my dad may not be my dad of 53 years and believe in it? I got a little more skin in the game.
