A staunch supporter of President Donald Trump remains unwavering in his political choice, even after his wife was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Bradley Bartell, who cast his vote for Trump, expressed no regrets despite the arrest of his wife, Camila Muoz, following their return from a honeymoon in Puerto Rico this past February. "I dont regret the vote," Bartell affirmed to Newsweek.

As reported by The Daily Beast, Muoz, a Peruvian national, entered the United States on a work-study visa in 2019. Her relationship with Bartell blossomed in Wisconsin, leading to their marriage during the pandemic, a period when her visa expired. She has since been striving to secure permanent residency.

Upon their attempt to re-enter the U.S., Muoz was questioned by ICE about her citizenship status. Despite her candid explanation of being in the process of obtaining a green card, she was detained in Louisiana, despite having no criminal record. ICE has yet to comment on the matter.

President Trump has consistently advocated for stringent immigration policies, including the mass deportation of illegal immigrants. Bartell, while enduring a challenging ordeal, remarked, "Its all been a nightmare really, taking things as they come and moving forward." He criticized the inefficiency of the immigration system, noting, "The system for getting people through seems to be very inefficient, so it is taking longer than it should."

Despite his criticisms of ICE, Bartell does not hold Trump accountable for the current system. "He didnt create the system, but he does have an opportunity to improve it," he stated, hoping that the situation might highlight systemic flaws.

Bartell has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to aid in his wife's legal battle, raising nearly $900 of the $3,000 target. Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has reiterated the administration's stance, stating that visa overstayers are considered illegal immigrants and are subject to deportation.
