A man from Washington, Percy Levy, aged 54, has been taken into custody on nearly a dozen charges related to drugs and firearms.

This arrest comes after Levy was previously granted clemency by former Governor Jay Inslee in 2019. The initial report of Levy's arrest was published by the Lynwood Times, a local newspaper in Snohomish County.

According to Fox News, the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force apprehended Levy following a 16-month investigation. The arrest occurred during a traffic stop in Everett, and a subsequent search of Levy's residence led to the discovery of significant quantities of illegal substances. Authorities reported finding 2,818 grams of powder cocaine, 14.7 grams of rock cocaine, and 556 grams of Fentanyl.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency highlights the lethality of Fentanyl, noting that just 2 milligrams can be fatal, making the seized amount potentially deadly for approximately 278,000 individuals. Additionally, detectives uncovered packaging materials, a digital scale, and a handgun at the scene.

Levy faces charges for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. Online records from the Snohomish County Sheriffs Office Corrections Bureau indicate that Levy is charged with 11 Class B Felony offenses and is currently held on a $1.5 million bond.

Levy's criminal history dates back to his early teens, as reported by the Lynwood Times. He previously served 17 years in prison following a 2002 arrest related to a drug house robbery. The clemency granted by Inslee in 2019 was influenced by the State v. Blake ruling in 2021, which reclassified the possession of controlled substances as a misdemeanor.

Since receiving clemency, Levy has been involved in criminal justice reform efforts. He worked as a community outreach specialist for the Washington Defender Association and established Redemption Auto, a car dealership in Everett. Furthermore, Levy holds the position of treasurer on the Board of the Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County chapter.

The Snohomish County Sheriffs Office has stated that the investigation into Levy's activities is ongoing.
