President Donald Trump has declared the demise of the "fugitive leader of ISIS in Iraq," attributing the success to the United States' "intrepid warfighters" who "hunted" him down.

Trump shared this development on Truth Social, stating, "Today the fugitive leader of ISIS in Iraq was killed. He was relentlessly hunted down by intrepid warfighters. His miserable life was terminated, along with another member of ISIS, in coordination with the Iraqi Government and the Kurdish Regional Government. PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH!"

As reported by Breitbart, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani confirmed the operation's success, crediting the Iraqi National Intelligence Service and their collaboration with the Joint Operations Command and International Coalition forces. Al-Sudani announced on X, "The Iraqis continue their remarkable victories against the forces of darkness and terrorism."

He elaborated that the operation led to the elimination of Abdallah Makki Muslih Al-Rufayi, also known as Abu Khadija, who was a high-ranking ISIS figure. Al-Rufayi held multiple positions within the terrorist organization, including "Deputy Caliph" and "Wali of Iraq and Syria," and was regarded as one of the most dangerous terrorists globally.

The Associated Press provided additional details, citing a "security official" who disclosed that the operation was executed via an airstrike in Anbar province, western Iraq, and took place on Thursday night. This significant achievement underscores the ongoing efforts and collaboration between the United States and its allies in combating terrorism. The operation's success is a testament to the effectiveness of strategic military actions and international cooperation in maintaining global security and stability.
