According to One America News, Trump took to Truth Social to voice his endorsement following Ramaswamy's announcement. "VIVEK RAMASWAMY is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio. I know him well, competed against him, and he is something SPECIAL," Trump declared. He further praised Ramaswamy as "Young, Strong, and Smart," and assured voters of his "COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT." The two had previously faced off in the 2024 presidential race, where Ramaswamy finished fourth among potential candidates but was notably the second choice among Trump supporters.
Elon Musk, who had initially planned for Ramaswamy to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) before the entrepreneur shifted focus to his gubernatorial campaign, also lent his support. Ramaswamy officially launched his 2026 campaign in Cincinnati, addressing a large crowd with a message of optimism and commitment to Ohio's future.
"Today, I am honored to announce that I am running to be the next governor of a great state at the heart of the greatest nation known to mankind the state where I was born and raised, the state where Apoorva and I raise our two sons today a state whose best days are still ahead," he proclaimed.
