Trump Urges TC Energy To Revive THIS Project

Former President Donald Trump has issued a rallying cry to TC Energy Corporation, the company responsible for the Keystone XL pipeline, urging them to return to the United States and complete the project.

Trump, who championed American energy independence during his presidency, has promised a streamlined process to expedite the project's completion.

The Keystone XL pipeline was a casualty of President Joe Biden's executive orders on his first day in office. As reported by RedState, Biden revoked "permits signed over the past 4 years that do not serve the U.S. national interest, including revoking the Presidential permit granted to the Keystone XL pipeline." This move was seen as a significant blow to the energy sector and a departure from the path towards energy independence.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump appealed to TC Energy Corporation, stating, "Our Countrys doing really well, and today, I was just thinking, that the company building the Keystone XL Pipeline that was viciously jettisoned by the incompetent Biden Administration should come back to America, and get it built NOW!" He further added, "I know they were treated very badly by Sleepy Joe Biden, but the Trump Administration is very different Easy approvals, almost immediate start!"

Trump's call to action was not limited to TC Energy Corporation. He suggested that if the company was unwilling to revive the project, he would welcome another company stepping in. His emphasis on the need for the Keystone XL Pipeline's completion was clear.

Since Trump's victory in November, RedState has consistently reported on the potential return of the Keystone XL pipeline under the new administration. A former worker on the project highlighted the significant impact its revival could have on the American people, stating it would "make a big difference" in reducing the cost of everyday items, including "your energy cost, your food cost, your gas that you put in your cars."

The Keystone XL pipeline was designed to transport crude oil from Alberta, Canada, and the northern U.S. to refineries along the Gulf Coast. It had the capacity to transport up to 830,000 barrels per day. Fox News reported that the pipeline, originally scheduled for completion in early 2023, "would have created between 16,149 and 59,000 jobs and would have had a positive economic impact of between $3.4 and $9.6 billion, citing various studies."

Mark McManus, General President of The United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA), had predicted a surge in energy prices following Biden's decision to halt the project. He stated, For the average American family, it means energy costs will go up and communities will no longer see the local investments that come with pipeline construction." His prediction proved accurate as energy costs did indeed rise.

Biden's decision to halt the pipeline project, which TC Energy Corp. had pledged would be environmentally friendly, was seen as an attempt to appease climate activists. The company had stated its commitment to achieving net zero emissions across the project operations in 2023 and to be fully powered by renewable energy sources by 2030.

Biden's decision to halt the Keystone XL pipeline on his first day in office resulted in the loss of tens of thousands of jobs and a potential energy source that could have reduced costs for the American people while maintaining environmental friendliness. It is this legacy that Trump aims to overturn in his second-term effort to restore energy independence to the United States.
