Zachary Levi, the star of "The Unbreakable Boy," has voiced his concerns about the state of leadership in California, particularly in the wake of the recent LA fires.

A long-term resident of Los Angeles, Levi shared his thoughts with Fox News Digital, emphasizing the importance of integrity in leadership, irrespective of political affiliation. He expressed his belief that "corruption" is a pervasive issue that transcends party lines.

"I just think at the end of the day, whether it's in California or anywhere else in the world, I think that what makes a good leader is integrity," Levi stated in his interview with Fox News Digital.

He further lamented the unfortunate reality of politics, where "a lot of seemingly otherwise good people" find themselves embroiled in corruption. According to Fox News, Levi urged the public to cease their internal conflicts and instead hold their leaders accountable, reminding everyone that these individuals are, in essence, public servants.

In the midst of discussing his new faith-based film, "The Unbreakable Boy," Levi, 44, opened up about his personal approach to dealing with adversity. He revealed that he often turns to prayer and relies on the support of his family and friends. "We're always looking for an answer outside of ourselves when the reality is God is the place that we ought to be turning instead of that," he said.

Levi also candidly admitted to occasionally resorting to alcohol as a coping mechanism during challenging times, acknowledging that self-medication is a struggle many people face.

In "The Unbreakable Boy," Levi portrays a father who discovers faith while grappling with his son's autism and brittle bone disease diagnosis. He highlighted the transformative journey of his character, Scott, who initially believes he can control his life but is eventually humbled by the unpredictability of life. "We don't get to control every aspect of our life," Levi added, reflecting on the profound message of the film.

Off-screen, Levi is preparing to welcome his first child with his girlfriend, Maggie Keating. The "Shazam!" star shared the news on Instagram in December, revealing that he had made significant changes in his life to prioritize his health and prepare for fatherhood. He expressed his excitement about the impending arrival of his baby, crediting his newfound love with Keating as a divine blessing.

Levi shared with Fox News Digital that he was drawn to "The Unbreakable Boy" because it was more than just a "squeaky clean, feel good movie." He appreciated that the film offered audiences hope, love, and acceptance, but not without first navigating through the darkness. Levi emphasized the role of prayer, family, and friends in his life, and the importance of accepting God's plan, even in the face of adversity.

He further suggested that hardships can often be blessings in disguise, a theme he believes is beautifully illustrated in his onscreen relationship with his son in the film. While acknowledging that no parent would wish for their child to have medical issues, Levi expressed his hope that the film would help audiences see the "silver lining" and the inherent beauty in every situation.

Levi's character in the film, Austin, embodies optimism and love, even in the face of adversity, such as bullying at school. Levi believes that this aspect of the character and his ability to see the good in others, even those who mistreat him, is one of the most powerful moments in the movie. He hopes that this message of resilience and optimism will resonate with audiences and inspire them to find the blessings in their own lives.
