Trumps NEW Border Czar Just Made A SHOCKING Announcement!

In a recent development, Tom Homan, President Donald Trump's Border Czar, has suggested that the proposed immigration raids on "Sanctuary Cities," such as Chicago and New York, may be temporarily halted.

This comes after details of the plan were prematurely disclosed to the media.

As reported by Gateway Pundit, last Friday, news broke that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was gearing up for a significant operation in sanctuary cities. This operation was slated to commence on Tuesday, a day after President Trump's inauguration. The Wall Street Journal had indicated that Chicago alone would see the deployment of over 200 ICE agents.

In a subsequent appearance on Fox News, Homan seemed to validate these reports. "It's going to be a big raid all across the country," he stated. "Chicago is just one of many places. We've got 24 [ICE] field offices across the country. On Tuesday, ICE is finally going to go out and do their job. We're going to take the handcuffs off ICE and let them go arrest criminal aliens. That's what's going to happen."

Homan further elaborated that ICE would "enforce immigration law without apology," but would "concentrate on the worst first." However, he clarified that "no one's off the table." He warned, "If they're in the country illegally, they got a problem."

However, the following day, Homan expressed concerns to the Washington Post about the leaked information putting law enforcement officers at "great risk." He stated, "We're looking at this leak and will make a decision based on this leak. It's unfortunate because anyone leaking law enforcement operations puts officers at great risk."

Homan also shared that he was unsure why Chicago had "become a focus of attention" when enforcement was planned nationwide. "ICE will start arresting public safety threats and national security threats on day one," he said. "We'll be arresting people across the country, uninhibited by any prior administration guidelines. Why Chicago was mentioned specifically, I dont know."

Homan emphasized that the operation was not confined to specific neighborhoods but was a nationwide initiative. "This is a nationwide thing," he said. "We're not sweeping neighborhoods. We have a targeted enforcement plan." This statement underscores the administration's commitment to enforcing immigration laws and ensuring national security, even as it grapples with the challenges posed by leaks and the potential risks they pose to law enforcement officers.
