As the Republican-dominated Senate prepares for a busy week of confirmation hearings ahead of President Trump's inauguration, the nation watches with bated breath.
The hearings, slated to commence on today and extend through Thursday, will see a host of Trump's nominees take the stand.
According to The Post Millennial, the inaugural hearing will feature Doug Collins, Trump's pick for Secretary of Veterans Affairs, presenting before the Veterans Affairs Committee at 9 am. The day's agenda also includes Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth appearing before the Armed Services Committee at 9:30 am, and Secretary of Interior nominee Doug Burgum, the erstwhile governor of North Dakota, presenting before the Energy and National Resources Committee at 10 am.
Wednesday will witness Homeland Security Secretary nominee Kristi Noem, the incumbent governor of South Dakota, appearing before the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee at 9 am. Trump's nominee for U.S. Attorney General, Pam Bondi, will also have her hearing at 9:30 am.
Wednesday's schedule is packed with hearings for Secretary of Energy nominee Chris Wright, Secretary of Transportation nominee Sean Duffy, CIA director nominee John Ratcliffe, and Secretary of State nominee Marco Rubio, a current senator representing Florida. All these hearings are scheduled for 10 am. Russel Vought, Trump's nominee for Office of Management and Budget director, will appear before the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee at 1 pm.
Thursday's itinerary includes the Environment and Public Works Committee hearing for EPA nominee Lee Zeldin and the Banks, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee hearing for Secretary of Housing and Urban Development nominee Scott Turner, both scheduled for 10 am. The Finance Committee hearing for Treasury Secretary nominee Scott Bessent will follow at 10:30 am.
However, the hearings for other significant nominees, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Department of Health and Human Services head and FBI Director nominee Kash Patel, are yet to be scheduled. The Daily Wire reports that a hearing for Tulsi Gabbards nomination for Director of National Intelligence, initially scheduled for this week, has been postponed by Senate Democrats. As the nation awaits these crucial hearings, the conservative values of limited government and individual freedom are expected to be at the forefront of the discussions.
