On Tuesday, the arraignment of former President Trump had the world glued to their screens.
Its one of many legal battles that Trump has, and continues, to face. However, he scored a significant victory on Tuesday as well.
In 2018, Stormy Daniels filed a defamation lawsuit against Trump, which was later thrown out. Despite being thrown out, Trump had to pay massive legal fees before it was dismissed. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals now orders Stormy Daniels to pay Trump almost $122,000 in legal fees.
Trump announced the victory on his Truth Social platform. First, he points out Alvin Bragg will waste around $200,000,000 of state funds for a completely legal NDA. Then, he announces that Daniels is ordered to pay him the money on top of the $500,000 he was already awarded.
The NY Post reports, Daniels had claimed that after a 2011 interview with In Touch magazine, during which she alleged that she had an affair with Trump in 2006, an unnamed man approached her and appeared to threaten her, saying, Leave Trump alone. Forget the story and Thats a beautiful little girl. Itd be a shame if something happened to her mom, a reference to her daughter.
Then, in 2018, Trump said that it was a fabricated story. He said the mans story was a lie and that this was a con job. Ultimately, this led to Daniels filing a lawsuit against Trump. The court says that the requirement for her to pay for Trumps legal fees is reasonable in addition to the money she owes him from when the lawsuit was dismissed.
Twitter is packed with Trump supporters. His son tweeted announcing the win.
In a statement made last year, Daniels is adamant about how she stands about paying Trump. She said, I will go to jail before I pay a penny.
