Nancy Pelosi Makes Major 'Oops' When Speaking With Hillary Clinton

Representative Nancy Pelosi made a faux pas recently when speaking with Hillary Clinton.

Fox News reports that Pelosi thanked Clinton for her leadership when president before she caught her mistake.

Columbia Universitys School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) hosted a conversation between Pelosi and Clinton about the state of democracy in the United States and worldwide. During this meeting, Clinton said the following to Pelosi:

Lets start with this little matter of Democracy, because I think you and I believe that its not just in our country, but thats where we see it most clearly, there is a concerted effort to undermine some of the very foundations of democratic governance, of a democratic society.

She then asked:

Theres research, some of it done by SIPA in this university, showing that half the worlds democracies are backsliding, and that includes, sadly, the United States. So, what do you, Nancy, view as the biggest threats and challenges facing our democracy, and what are the opportunities to try to stop that backsliding and turn it around?

Pelosi said: Well, I appreciate that question, but I also appreciate your leadership in this regard when President She then threw her arms up in the arm and put her hands over her heart in a dramatic gesture. Pelosi wanted to clarify that she hoped that Clinton would have become President, but she appeared to feel bad that she indicated that Clinton had been President. It might have reopened some wounds for Clinton, who lost a close race in 2016 that she was primarily expected to win.

Pelosi recovered from the error by saying: But when Secretary Clinton was in the Senate and first lady, but especially as secretary of State in more recent time she has been and at that time implemented many things showing Americas support for Democracy.

Fox News reports that the former Speaker then went on to say that Vladimir Putin had interfered with the 2016 election to hand victory to Trump and that Putin feared Clinton.

She stated: It was her clarity and position to the present Putin present occupant leader of Russia, that made him turn around and ensure, in an illegal way, come out against her in her campaign and interference in our democracy by Vladimir Putin, because Hillary Clinton was the person he feared most in terms of his lack of democracy in Russia. Thats, I think, self-evident, so thank you for what you have done.
