Holiday Havoc: Memphis Woman Lands In Cuffs After Hospital Visit Goes HORRIBLY Wrong

Written by Published

A Memphis woman, aged 26, was apprehended on the eve of Christmas following an alleged assault on a nurse at Methodist South Hospital.

Dashawna Williams, the accused, reportedly expressed her unwillingness to be attended to by a white healthcare professional.

The incident unfolded on Tuesday when Williams, while undergoing treatment at the hospital, allegedly struck a nurse in the face with a clenched fist. As reported by The Post Millennial, Williams confessed to law enforcement that the nurse's race was the motive behind her violent action.

The police swiftly arrived at the scene, arresting Williams and charging her with assault. The authorities highlighted that Williams is suspected to have mental health issues, which necessitated the presence of crisis intervention team officers at the hospital during the incident.

Court documents further disclosed that Williams was already under the radar for an outstanding warrant from December 4, linked to a carjacking case. In the previous year, she purportedly feigned possession of a firearm and demanded a man's Nissan Altima outside a convenience store. After acquiring the vehicle, she is said to have sold it for a mere $40. Williams was subsequently arrested for this incident, and a bail hearing was scheduled. However, the carjacking charges were dismissed due to a lack of prosecution, but the warrant remained active when she allegedly assaulted the nurse.

Currently, Williams is detained on a bond of $50,500. Her subsequent court appearance is slated for January 7, 2025. This case serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by healthcare professionals, who often become targets of violence, and the ongoing racial tensions that continue to plague our society.
