In a shocking incident in Kissimmee, Florida, a pizza delivery driver allegedly attacked a pregnant woman, stabbing her 14 times over a $2 tip.
The incident occurred at the Riviera Motel on E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, where the woman was celebrating a birthday with her boyfriend and five-year-old daughter.
According to Breitbart, the Osceola County Sheriffs Office has charged 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo with attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, aggravated assault, and kidnapping. The identity of a man believed to have accompanied Alvelo during the incident remains unknown.
The victim had ordered a $33 pizza from Marcos Pizza, which Alvelo delivered around 10 p.m. When the woman attempted to pay for the pizza with a $50 bill, Alvelo didn't have the required change. Consequently, the woman used smaller bills to pay for the pizza and tipped Alvelo $2, as reported by NBC News.
The affidavit details a chilling sequence of events that unfolded later that night. The woman reported hearing a loud knock at the door, and upon opening it, a man and a woman dressed in black and wearing masks allegedly forced their way into the room. The man brandished a silver revolver, ordering the womans boyfriend into the bathroom, while the woman, believed to be Alvelo, produced a pocketknife.
The affidavit further states that Alvelo rummaged through the womans purse and damaged her daughters Nintendo Switch. When the woman moved to protect her child, she felt a blow to her lower back. In the ensuing struggle, Alvelo reportedly seized the woman's phone, smashed it, and began stabbing her repeatedly. The assault ended when the armed man signaled it was time to leave.
The victim, who was stabbed 14 times in her chest, arms, legs, and abdomen, is expected to make a full recovery. In a twist of fate, she discovered her pregnancy while receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Following the incident, police secured a warrant and arrested Alvelo on Monday. She is currently held at the Osceola County Jail with bail set at $55,000. However, her alleged accomplice remains at large, leaving a sense of unease in the community and raising questions about the safety of everyday transactions.
