Bah Humbug! Massachussets Amazon Driver Takes 'Holiday Stress' Into His Own Hands...Literally! (WATCH)

In a bizarre incident, an Amazon delivery driver, overwhelmed by stress, abandoned dozens of Christmas packages on a Massachusetts roadside.

The packages, which could have been lost forever, were fortuitously discovered by local law enforcement.

According to The Post Millennial, a sergeant from the Lakeville Police, a department located just south of Boston, stumbled upon the packages during a routine patrol around 2 am on Sunday. The packages were not haphazardly discarded but neatly arranged in three Amazon bags. Upon inspection at the police station, it was revealed that the bags contained more than 80 packages. With no reports of an Amazon truck heist or missing packages, the police reached out to the nearest Amazon distribution center to return the packages and investigate the matter.

The puzzle was pieced together on Monday when an Amazon driver turned up at the police station, admitting to being the culprit behind the misplaced packages. The driver confessed that the incident occurred during their Saturday evening delivery and was a result of stress. The police, understanding the human element in the situation, decided not to pursue criminal charges.

Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins stated, "At this time, we are not seeking criminal charges and are considering this a human resources matter for Amazon." He added that the driver would address the incident at work. Perkins also commended Sgt. Shawn Robert for his discovery, stating, "Sgt. Robert likely saved a Christmas headache for many local residents by noticing these totes and getting them back to Amazon, hopefully in time for a holiday delivery.

While the situation was resolved for Lakeville Amazon customers, others across the nation have been impacted by a nationwide strike of Amazon warehouse workers during the holiday season.

Amazon drivers in four states initiated a strike around the Christmas holidays. However, the company assured customers that most shipments ordered in time for Christmas delivery would arrive on schedule. The striking workers, represented by Teamsters, constitute only about 1 percent of Amazons total workforce. Amazon even disputes the claim that the striking employees are part of their workforce.

An Amazon spokesperson stated that the company, which gained significant control over U.S. consumers during the COVID pandemic lockdowns, has increased its starting minimum wage for warehouse staff and drivers by 20 percent. The average salary now stands at $22 per hour. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, once perceived as a liberal Democrat due to his ownership of The Washington Post, was seen dining with President-elect Donald Trump and his wife Melania at Mar-a-Lago. Bezos also contributed a $1 million donation to the Trump inauguration fund. Internal polling indicated that a clear majority of Teamsters members supported Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
