Deported Twice, Back Again: Shocking Wrong-Way Crash Leaves Hero Cop And Repeat Offender Dead

Written by Published

A tragic incident unfolded earlier this month when an off-duty police officer lost his life in a wrong-way crash.

The perpetrator, an illegal immigrant who had been deported twice, was behind the wheel. The incident has sparked renewed discussions on border control and immigration policies, particularly in light of the fact that the immigrant had repeatedly managed to re-enter the country after deportation.

According to The Post Millennial, the man responsible for the accident was Fernando Jimenez-Jimenez, a 31-year-old Mexican national. He was driving on the wrong side of Interstate 15 when he collided with Officer Colton Pulsipher, 29, who was returning home from his shift. Both Jimenez and Pulsipher were pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

Jimenez had a history of illegal immigration, having been ordered to leave the country by a judge three years ago. Despite being deported in 2019 and again in 2021, he had managed to re-enter the U.S. each time. The incident has raised questions about the effectiveness of current immigration policies and border control measures.

The aftermath of the crash revealed further disturbing details. Officers discovered containers of alcohol and marijuana in Jimenez's vehicle, a Ford F150, which had crashed into Pulsipher's Toyota Corolla. A toxicology report on Jimenez is still pending, as reported by the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Pulsipher's life was cut tragically short. Born on February 12, 1995, in St. George, Utah, he was a dedicated officer and a devoted family man. He leaves behind his wife, Ashlee, and their three young children. His obituary noted that he had spent most of his life in Moapa, Nevada, and had served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Denver North Mission.

Pulsipher's funeral took place on December 18, with his fellow officers escorting his body. The Las Vegas Police Department released a statement saying, As we honor his legacy, we remember a man who truly embodied the spirit of service. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

In the wake of this tragedy, a fundraiser has been set up by Behind the Blue to support Pulsipher's family. The page highlights Pulsipher's dedication to both his community and his family, stating, "Officer Pulsiphers commitment to serving and protecting our community was matched only by his dedication to his family." This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of lax border control and immigration policies.
