In a recent podcast, renowned comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan lauded X as the "most trusted" news source on the planet, in a conversation with fellow podcaster Dave Smith.
Rogan's endorsement of X was unequivocal, as he declared, X is the number one news source on Earth. Its the most trusted because its the only one thats not f*cked with. So even if someone is incorrect, the Community Notes will correct them. The Community notes are rock solid, it's a great way to find out whats real and whats not real."
According to The Post Millennial, Rogan further extolled the virtues of X's interactive platform, where real-time debates occur in the comments section whenever news breaks. He contrasted this with the corporate-controlled media, stating, You look in the comments and see people debating, and its happening in real time, whenever something breaks. Its way better than what youre going to get on corporate controlled media.
Rogan also touched on the potential political implications of Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter, suggesting that without this move, Trump's victory might not have been as decisive. Musk, who was present during the discussion, seemed to appreciate Rogan's endorsement, responding, Joe Rogan says X is the most trusted source of news! True.
In a previous interaction in October 2023, Musk and Rogan had delved into the significance of Musk's purchase of Twitter. Musk had then asserted that Twitter functioned as an extension of the government, with conservative voices being stifled. "The degree to which Twitter was simply an arm of the government was not well understood by the public," Musk had stated, likening it to the Soviet news agency Pravda and labeling Twitter as "a state publication."
Musk had also criticized the old Twitter for being "propped up" and functioning as a "state publication." He had claimed that under the old Twitter regime, there was a clear bias against conservative views. "There was basically oppression of any views that would even, I would say be considered middle of the road, but certainly anything on the right.
And Im not talking about like far right, Im just talking about mildly right," Musk had said. He had also pointed out that "Republicans were suppressed at 10 times the rate of Democrats."
These discussions underscore the importance of free speech and the necessity for a balanced representation of political ideologies in the media landscape. They also highlight the potential of platforms like X in fostering open, real-time debates and discussions, thereby promoting a more democratic and inclusive discourse.
