Rolling Fork, Mississippi, was recently devasted when a massive tornado ripped through the town, killing at least 25 people.
However, Biden called the city Rolling Stone when he spoke about the tornado.
Fox News reports, The tornado began near Rolling Fork and moved 30 miles northeast through Silver City. According to radar analysis, the tornado could lift debris over 20,000 feet in the air and was on the ground for 80 miles.
The EF-4 tornado touched down in Rolling Fork on Friday. The predominantly black community has only about 2,000 residents and sits in a county that is one of the most poverty-stricken counties in the state. As the New York Post reported, winds up to 200 mph destroyed businesses, uprooted trees, leveled houses, and crumpled mobile homes.
Biden made a memorable trip to the destroyed town. While there, he delivered a speech to reassure the citys people that federal aid would help them rebuild.
Fox News continued, Were not just here for today. Im determined that were going to leave nothing behind. Were going to get it done for you, Biden said during the speech. Im making sure you got a place to sleep, food to eat, helping you rebuild your lives in Rolling Stone.
However, he didnt just say it once. He repeated the gaffe throughout the speech, telling the people that Rolling Stone would be back.
At the end of the speech, Biden realized what hed done and attempted to correct his mistake, saying, What did I say, I said Rolling Fork. Rolling Stone. I got my mind going here.
Many businesses and a few residential areas were destroyed after the tornado passed. People were trapped in businesses while teams attempted to get them out.
Aerial photos taken before and after the tornado of Rolling Fork shows the track of widespread destruction. Mounds of debris have replaced the space where residences and businesses once stood.
