In a recent revelation, Ramon Ramirez Baez, a former Democratic committee member who played a pivotal role in the election of Rep.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has expressed his deep disappointment with the Congresswoman's performance.

Baez, who was instrumental in garnering support for Ocasio-Cortez during her initial campaign, has accused her of betraying her constituents in a Queens neighborhood that has been plagued by crime, including open-air prostitution and petty theft, under her leadership.

According to Fox News, the conditions in the area, particularly along Roosevelt Avenue, have deteriorated to a point where residents are drawing comparisons to Third World countries. The area has gained national attention due to its unsanitary conditions, with illegal vendors selling unregulated food and counterfeit merchandise, contributing to a decline in the quality of life.

Baez, an author and a well-connected figure in the area, particularly among his fellow Dominican immigrants, was a key figure in Ocasio-Cortez's historic upset in 2018. He recalls the then-unknown political novice as a fresh face who promised to work hard for the people of Corona, Jackson Heights, and Elmhurst. Ocasio-Cortez, he says, reached out to him for help when she had about $39,000 in the bank, compared to her opponent's nearly $2 million war chest.

"I paid for that debate, I have an invoice for everything I did for Ms. Alexandria," Ramirez Baez said, indicating that he has all his expenses from her campaign documented. However, since her rise to power, Baez claims that Ocasio-Cortez has been missing in action, acting no differently from her predecessor. "We never saw that lady, never, she disappeared," he told Fox News Digital. "She [didnt] do anything for the community, nothing, nothing."

Baez further criticizes Ocasio-Cortez for her lack of presence in the community. He claims that locals don't know how to get in touch with her office, and she has not held any significant events in the area. "She goes all over the place, like a movie star, she goes to Texas, all over the place, but what about the community?" Baez questions.

Baez also expressed his regret about supporting Ocasio-Cortez, stating that he was unaware of her socialist leanings at the time. "If she said to me, she is socialist, I would never support it," Ramirez Baez declared. He believes that her socialist agenda, particularly her open-border policy with regard to immigration, has contributed to the decline of the neighborhood.

Baez, who has lived in Cuba and the former Soviet Union, criticizes Ocasio-Cortez's understanding of socialism. "She only defends the socialist agenda, which is not for the American people. She doesnt understand what [socialism] means," said Ramirez Baez. He also blames the Democrats' open border policy for the influx of people contributing to the neighborhood's decline.

Despite his lifelong affiliation with the Democratic party, Baez revealed that he voted for President-elect Trump and encouraged his neighbors to do the same. "The American country is for the law, its for people who are working," he stated.

Baez also shared his disappointment with Ocasio-Cortez's lack of support for his efforts to improve the neighborhood. He founded a group called "Let's Improve Roosevelt Ave," which advocates for more police on the ground. Despite his repeated pleas, Ocasio-Cortez, along with other local progressives, ignored his calls for support.

In a damning open letter to Ocasio-Cortez, Baez expressed his regret for endorsing her in 2018. He criticized her for focusing more on media attention than on the real issues facing her constituents. He also accused her of advocating for the legalization of prostitution and anti-police policies, ignoring the fact that over 70 brothels operate near local schools and houses of worship.

Baez concluded his letter by questioning Ocasio-Cortez's understanding of the damage her policies have done to the community and her political party. "Have you reviewed the polls of how many Latinos are defecting from the Democratic Party because of the radical policies you espouse?" Ramirez Baez asked. "Take a look at Roosevelt Avenue, breathe our air and see your failures."

Despite these serious allegations, Ocasio-Cortez's office has not responded to Fox News Digital's request for comment in relation to Ramirez Baez's claims. As the neighborhood continues to grapple with crime and unsanitary conditions, the silence from Ocasio-Cortez's office raises questions about her commitment to the constituents who once placed their trust in her.
