In a startling revelation, Shaun Maguire, a venture capitalist and purported former landlord of Hunter Biden, has accused the recently pardoned son of President Joe Biden of defaulting on rent payments amounting to over $300,000 during a year-long period.
Maguire further alleged that Hunter attempted to settle the debt with artwork crafted from his own fecal matter.
According to The Post Millennial, Maguire, who is a partner at the venture capital firm Sequoia Capital, took to social media to voice his grievances following the presidential pardon. He wrote, "So what happens to the $300k+ in back pay rent that Hunter Biden owes my family from 2019-2020? Is that pardoned now? Thanks Joe. (This is a true story)." In a subsequent comment, he added, "Yup. True story. Hunter was our tenant in Venice, CA. Didn't pay rent for over a year. Tried to pay w/ art made from his own feces. Absolute sh*t bag."
Interestingly, Maguire, who was once a vocal critic of former President Trump, had thrown his support behind the current President during the 2024 election. He had stated in an October 27 post, "In 2016 we were manipulated to believe the world will end if Trump is elected I took the bait then, but not this time."
The controversy comes on the heels of President Biden's announcement of Hunter's pardon, a move that contradicts his earlier promise not to interfere with the Justice Departments decision-making process. In a statement, Biden defended his decision, saying, "Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Departments decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.
Biden further accused the Department of Justice of bias against his son, stating, "Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form." He added, "Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions."
The President concluded his statement by asserting, "It is clear that Hunter was treated differently." He also claimed that he has always adhered to a "simple principle: just tell the American people the truth." However, this recent pardon has led many to question the veracity of the White House's earlier statements, particularly those asserting that Biden would not pardon Hunter.
