Nikki Haley is the only other officially announced major candidate for the GOP nomination for 2024 outside of Donald Trump.
So far, Haley has failed to gain much traction within the party or the polls for the nomination. However, Fox News reports that Haleys campaign has launched what they call Women for Haley ahead of the first caucuses in Iowa.
Haleys campaign manager Betsy Ankney spoke with Fox News Digital and stated: Team Haley is excited to launch our Women for Nikki campaign in Iowa! Theres no shortage of strong women leaders in Hawkeye State. Were looking forward to working with women in Iowa and all across the country to make Nikki Haley the next President of the United States.
According to the campaign, Haley will be accompanied by Rep. Randy Feenstra, R-Iowa, at numerous campaign stops in the state on April 10th and 11th. They hope to do what they can to gin up more support for Haley and improve her connections with everyday voters in the state. This could help Haley to build a stronger reputation for herself so that she might start to fare a little better in the polling and the results of the Iowa Caucus if she is lucky.
Rachel Geilenfeld, co-chair of Iowas Women for Nikki campaign, also spoke to Fox News Digital about developing a more focused womens group within the Haley campaign.
Geilenfeld said: Nikki is a governor, a job creator, an ambassador, and a tough-as-nails conservative who went toe-to-toe with North Korea, Russia, and China and didnt blink. She is a unifier who can bring people together to get conservative results.
Emily Sukup Schmitt, another co-chair of Iowas Women for Nikki campaign, spoke with Fox News Digital and expressed excitement for the development of this group. Schmitt said:
As a working mom, its high time we had a mom in the White House who will fight for our kids. As a female business leader, I am impressed by Nikkis commitment to cutting spending and tackling inflation. As governor and as UN ambassador, Nikki has always done whats right even if it isnt popular.
Haley has officially been in the running since February 15, 2023. That is when she announced her campaign launch at an event in Charleston, SC. She continues to insist via her campaign that America is ready for a new generation of leadership and that this is what she has to offer the country. Regardless, she remains far behind in all polls of the GOP field.
