In a recent acquisition, the family of California Governor Gavin Newsom has secured a multi-million-dollar residence in Marin County.

The purchase of the 5,600-square foot luxury home in Kentfield was finalized early in November.

As reported by Fox Business, the property was bought through a limited liability company owned by Newsoms wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom. The sale price of the opulent dwelling was listed at a staggering $9.1 million. Kentfield, a community within Marin County, is located north of San Francisco and is home to just over 6,800 residents, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

The real estate market in this area is diverse, with house prices ranging from $999,000 to a whopping $21 million, according to Realtor.com. The median home price in Kentfield was recorded at $2.8 million last month. The Newsom family's new residence, spanning approximately 5,600 square feet across three floors, is certainly on the higher end of this spectrum.

The "architecturally stunning" home, as described in the listing, comprises six bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. It features an open floor plan, a chefs kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for ample natural light. The family room, living room, and master bedroom are all equipped with fireplaces. The property also boasts multiple outdoor entertaining areas, a pool, and expansive, "lush" lawns. The lot, just under an acre, provides a high level of privacy.

In a statement to Fox Business, Newsoms office said, "To ensure continuity in their childrens education, the family continue to split their time between Sacramento and Marin counties." It is worth noting that Marin County is where Newsoms children were expected to attend school starting this fall, as per Politico.

In addition to their new Marin County home, the Newsoms also maintain a residence in the Sacramento area, where Newsom, a successful businessman before his political career, spends most of his time working. He has been serving as the governor of the Golden State for over five years, with his second term having started last year.

California is known for its high-value real estate, boasting more cities where homes typically value at least $1 million than any other state. Zillow reported 210 such cities for the Golden State, with the San Francisco metro area alone accounting for 69 of these cities. The recent acquisition by the Newsom family further underscores the state's reputation for luxury real estate.
