The recent incident involving Vice President Kamala Harris' dismissive response to two students proclaiming their Christian faith at her rally has sparked widespread attention.
The students, who were attending her rally in Wisconsin, were heard saying "Jesus is Lord" and "Christ is King," only to be met with mockery from Harris and her supporters.
According to RedState, the incident was captured on video by conservative activist Scott Presler. The footage clearly reveals the students' statements and the subsequent reaction from Harris' supporters, who can be heard saying "Bye!" as the students were escorted out. Contrary to some media reports, there is no evidence of anyone shouting "lies."
The students, identified as Luke Polaske and Grant Beth from Lacrosse University, were later interviewed on Fox News. They confirmed that they were indeed the ones Harris addressed when she said, "Oh, I think you guys are at the wrong rally. I think you meant to go to the smaller one down the street." This statement was seemingly a jab at President Donald Trump, despite the fact that he was not holding a rally nearby and typically hosts larger events than Harris.
Polaske and Beth, both pro-life advocates, shared their experiences at the rally. Polaske stated that he felt Harris was directly addressing him, describing how she "looked him directly in the eye, kinda gave him an evil smirk," before making her dismissive comment. He also recounted how Harris' supporters shouted at them and even shoved Beth, leading to their departure from the event. However, they were also officially removed, with one badge-wearing individual telling them, "You are uninvited and unwelcome to this event. You need to leave."
The rally took place at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse, which Polaske noted was a small venue with an attendance of approximately 2,500 people. He humorously remarked, "So when she told us to go to the smaller rally down the street, I didn't really think for a political rally, there could be a smaller rally."
Beth emphasized that their presence at the rally was about expressing their faith, not supporting Trump. He confirmed that he was pushed, as seen in the video, and that they were subjected to heckling and mockery. Beth warned young people, "This is what you're going to get with a Kamala Harris presidency. You're going to get the Kamala Harris that alienates over 50 percent of the U.S. population which is Christian." He also criticized Harris for skipping the Al Smith memorial dinner, a tradition no major candidate has ignored since Walter Mondale in 1984.
"The future of the country is at stake," Beth said, citing concerns about high grocery prices and the challenges of home ownership under a potential Harris presidency.
Interestingly, Harris' response to these Christian students starkly contrasted with her reaction to a pro-Palestinian protester who interrupted her at another event in Wisconsin earlier that day. She acknowledged the protester's concerns as "real" and expressed respect for his voice.
The disparity in Harris' responses to these two incidents has drawn criticism, particularly from conservative circles. Her dismissive reaction to the Christian students' proclamation of "Jesus is Lord," compared to her respectful response to the pro-Palestinian protester, has raised questions about her respect for religious freedom and her potential bias against Christian values.
