WATCH: Here's What Singer 'Lizzo' Had To Say While Campaigning For Harris!

In a recent campaign rally for Vice President Kamala Harris, Detroit-born pop sensation Lizzo made a bold statement, asserting that "if Kamala wins then the whole country will be like Detroit."

The rally, held in Detroit, Michigan, was part of an "early vote event" aimed at urging Michigan residents to cast their votes for Harris ahead of the November 5 deadline.

According to the Daily Caller, this rally comes at a crucial time as polls indicate former President Donald Trump narrowing the gap in this pivotal swing state. A recent poll by 270 to Win revealed a significant shift, with Harris slipping from a four-percentage point lead on September 26 to a tie.

In her speech, Lizzo proudly declared, "All the best things were made in Detroit: Coney dogs, Faygo and Lizzo. You know, they say if Kamala wins then the whole country will be like Detroit." However, it's worth noting that Detroit has been grappling with significant challenges. In 2018, home security company Sirix Monitoring ranked Detroit as the second most violent city in the U.S. By 2023, the property crime rate in Detroit often surpassed 3,000 per 100,000 residents, a staggering 50% higher than the national average of 2,000 per 100,000 residents. Furthermore, the city's poverty rate stood at 31.5% in 2022, nearly triple the national average of 12.5%.

Despite these statistics, Lizzo remained steadfast in her support for Harris, stating, "Im proud to say that I voted, I voted early and I voted for Kamala Harris." She then transitioned into a musical performance, exclaiming, "Turn me up. Turn up the music. Turn down the light. I got a feeling."
