In a recent development, President Joe Biden issued a stern warning to Iran, cautioning that any further assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump or other U.S. officials linked to Iran would be met with severe consequences.
This comes amid reports of long-standing Iranian threats against Trump, which have been closely monitored by Washington.
As reported by Gateway Pundit, Sean Savett, a spokesperson for the US National Security Council, confirmed that these threats have been under surveillance for years. "Should Iran attack any of our citizens, including those who continue to serve the United States or those who formerly served, Iran will face severe consequences, Savett stated. This warning extends to former officials such as National Security Advisor John Bolton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Brian Hook, the Trump administrations special representative for Iran.
The Biden administration, which has previously funded Iran with billions of dollars in assets, has now reportedly sent a message to the highest levels of the Iranian government. This message serves as a warning to cease any plots against Trump and other former U.S. officials.
This development is particularly intriguing, given the history of reported threats against Trump from Iran. On September 25, 2024, the FBI confirmed to the Associated Press that they had briefed the Trump Team about credible threats to Donald J. Trump. Steven Cheung, a campaign spokesperson, revealed that the meeting included information about real and specific threats to assassinate him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States.
However, some media outlets have been skeptical of these claims. Reuters, for instance, reported, Trump implicates Iran, without evidence, in assassination attempts against him. This skepticism seems misplaced, considering the FBI had already acknowledged briefing the Trump Campaign on real and specific assassination threats by Iran.
The timing of these statements from the Biden administration raises questions, especially considering the last two alleged Trump assassins were radicalized leftists, influenced by the Democrat party and legacy media attacks on President Trump. The reasons behind these recent remarks remain unclear, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing U.S.-Iran relations.
