As the election season intensifies, Iran has reportedly set its sights on a group of former aides to Donald Trump, the former U.S. President.

These individuals are allegedly being targeted due to their roles in the Trump administration and their connections to the killing of Qassem Soleimani, Iran's most influential military general at the time.

According to The Post Millennial, a former senior Trump administration official revealed, "Weve never had former senior national security officials, a Cabinet member, that have had this risk profile from a foreign adversary." This statement underscores the unprecedented nature of the threats emanating from Iran, which has been openly hostile towards Trump and those involved in the drone strike that resulted in Soleimani's death.

Among those identified as potential targets are Mark Esper, former Defense Secretary; Kenneth McKenzie, head of the U.S. Central Command; Mark Milley, Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Mike Pompeo, former Secretary of State; Paul Nakasone, the head of U.S. Cyber Command and NSA; and Brian Hook, the State Departments Special Representative over Iran. Each of these individuals is now accompanied by a 24/7 security detail, with some teams comprising up to half a dozen personnel.

Tehran has reportedly released videos depicting the deaths of Trump and others involved in the strike on Soleimani. The Trump campaign was briefed on the Iranian threat last month, and recent reports suggest that the team is seeking additional military-grade protection equipment in response to these threats.

Matt Olsen, the DOJ assistant attorney general over national security, emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, This is extraordinarily serious. Iran has made it very clear that they are determined to seek retaliation against former officials in connection with the Soleimani strike."

The threats against Trump and his former aides have been confirmed by approximately 20 individuals with direct knowledge of the situation. This development follows two assassination attempts on the former president's life, one in Butler, Pennsylvania, and another at his golf course in West Palm Beach. In response to these threats, the GOP nominee has reportedly refrained from golfing until the election concludes, as federal authorities have expressed their inability to guarantee his safety on the golf course.
