In a recent interview with Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo, former President Donald Trump expressed his admiration for Tesla CEO Elon Musk, highlighting Musk's endorsement and his potential role in government cost-cutting.

According to Mediaite, Trump, without any prompting, mentioned Musk's name and his "really powerful endorsement." "We have the endorsement of Elon, as you know," Trump shared with Bartiromo. "Elon Musk, whos great. Hes a great guy. He had such a good time. He put the black hat on." Bartiromo responded with "Dark MAGA," to which Trump confirmed, "He calls it Dark MAGA. How cool is that? Hes a great guy. Hes given us a really powerful endorsement. Hes out campaigning in Pennsylvania today. Hes actually campaigning because he says if we dont win, were not going to have a country."

Later in the conversation, when Bartiromo questioned Trump about his plans to trim "fat" in government, the former president once again brought up Musk. "Let me have you ask another person that," Trump suggested. "Because Im going to have Elon Musk he is dying to do this. You know, hes a great business guy, actually. You think of him for science and rockets. And every time I think hes telling me about a new screw that was developed, hes developed a new screw, screws are difficult, and its made out of titanium, and its so exciting. But you know what? Hes a great business guy and hes a great cost-cutter. Youve seen that. And he said I could cut costs without affecting anybody.'"

When Bartiromo suggested that Musk might be a part of the cabinet, Trump clarified, "Not in the cabinet. He doesnt want to be in the cabinet. He just wants to be in charge of cost-cutting. Well have a new position: Secretary of cost-cutting, OK? Elon wants to do that."

Trump also emphasized Musk's commitment to his business and his ambitious space exploration goals. "And besides that, I want him to send a rocket up to Mars. Hes made me a promise, hell get to Mars before the end of my administration. Which will be long before, hopefully, China or Russia."

The former president also took the opportunity to highlight his creation of the Space Force and criticize President Biden's initial reaction to it. "I created Space Force. First time thats been done since the Air Force. Air Force was the last, 81 years ago. And I did Space Force. And when Biden heard, he laughed, he thought it was so funny. He didnt understand, and he tried to end it. And the military went down and him you wouldnt believe it. Its now going to be one of our most important things. We were getting killed in space by China and by Russia, and now were leading in space."

Trump's admiration for Musk and his endorsement, along with his plans for cost-cutting in government, reflect his commitment to individual freedom and free-market economics. His focus on space exploration and defense further underscores his dedication to maintaining America's leading position on the global stage.
